I know when you lead you are always in the process of turning the ship into the wind. Finding the fresh wind and fire that will set you and those that follow you on fire, ignite a new passion and embrace a new vision. We all know that means CHANGE! Sometimes, well most of the time that is a bad word. This video on Fast Company, brings to the table a fresh perspective of how we as leaders can help those that follow understand and embrace change… What do think? How can we see this incorporated in… Preaching, teaching, training & volunteer recruitment?
You know sometime we have to learn from others! I thought the video had great truth, as well. Something to really "snack" on!

Another aspect of change, espcially within the church is actually participation (this will evoke the feelings the guy in the video is talking about). This is applicable for leaders as well as church members. For example, the church will do a 4 week study on evangelism and when the 4 weeks is over, and knowledge has been dispensed, leaders/teachers leave it there. How much more effective would it be to have a 5-6 week study, give the tools in the first 4 weeks, and the last 1-2 weeks, take the students out to actually use the new tools they have. We just assume the knowledge will change them (and this is part of it for sure), but the usage of the tool will show them the value and benefits of applying this in their life. A hammer can be talked about for days, but until one uses it to hammer in nails will it cause an individual to change, as far as the hammer is concerned. When one is placed in a situation to share their faith for instance, only until that happens and they see another's eternal destiantion change will it make a difference in their life. Change should be constant for church leaders because hopefully they are gaining a better understanding of God's heart and mind as they go through the journey of life.
Great pick up Artie…now it's got me thinking….
